This clinic with experts Hans Florine and Heidi Wirtz will help to get you more solid in multi pitch fundamentals making you smoother, faster and more likely for success when setting out on multi-pitch climbs. This is a hands on clinic that includes transition drills, tips and tricks for speeding up your multi-pitch climbing while still managing your risk. This clinic is designed with with intermediate to advanced climber in mind and best suited for those that have a fairly solid grasp of gear placement and anchor building.

A little about Hans and Heidi!
Hans Florine won the first International Speed Climbing Championships in 1991, he held the US Speed title eleven times, and the Difficulty title twice. Hans won ESPN X Games the first three years in a row. Hans is an All American in the Pole Vault. Hans broke the Speed record on The Nose Route on El Capitan 8 times over the past 27 years. Hans Co-authored the book “Speed Climbing” in 2003. Hans co-authored the book “On The Nose,” an Amazon best seller, which marks his 100th ascent of The Nose. In 2016 Hans was inducted into the California Outdoor Hall of Fame. Hans holds a BS in Economics with minors in Production Operations, and Human resources. Hans has managed one of the Touchstone Climbing Gyms for over nine years. Hans is a professional speaker, guide, author, and business/life coach. Hans created an annual challenge list in 2011 that still refreshes every year and has had over one thousand participants. His dedication to motivating and inspiring people to exercise and just get out is incapsulated in the online community www.DHTChallenge.com which he co-founded. Hans is the father to a 22 year old woman and 20 year old man.

Heidi Wirtz is a climber, guide and yogin. She holds a deep love of connecting with nature, sharing her passions and inspiring others to follow their dreams. She has been climbing for over twenty six years, letting her passion for adventure and exploration lead her to exotic and remote places around the world. Heidi has pioneered new routes up unclimbed big walls and mountains and pushed the limits of female exploration.
Heidi has been guiding in the outdoors for over 20 years and is a certified AMGA Rock Guide, Apprentice Mountain and Ski Guide and is working towards her full IFMGA certification.
Heidi is founder and owner of an adventure retreat business called Earth Play Retreats (EPR), which combines adventure sports, connection to nature and yoga. Through Earth Play Retreats, she is dedicated to offering her clients a transformational experience that will carry over into their everyday lives.
